What is the best way to store hose?
A hose that remains unaffected at room temperature can fail very quickly at higher temperatures. Materials such as rubber and plastics lose life at elevated temperatures, ageing increases at elevated temperatures and can be as much as halved at temperatures above 100°C.
If stored in temperatures below 0°C, the hoses usually need to be warmed up slightly before installation/use due to stiffening or stiffness at low temperatures. Rubber hoses should not be stored in the vicinity of refrigeration systems or heat supply equipment. They should not be stored where there is a risk of abnormal humidity.

To avoid the destructive properties of ozone, hoses should never be stored near electrical equipment that can generate ozone, nor outdoors in geographical areas where high ozone values may occur. Unprotected/packaged hose should not be stored in places where the light comes from fluorescent or mercury lamps that emit radiation that is harmful to rubber. Storage areas should be relatively cool and dark and free from moisture and dew.
Efforts should be made to store products in a way that allows compliance with the first-in, first-out principle. This is because even under the most favourable conditions, storage reduces the life of the hose.
